Before you start creating/editing maps with Gearcraft, you must first set up the folders that it uses.

Creating a Game Configuration

In the Gearcraft function bar, go to Config -> Games. A new dialog should come up. On it, go to the 'Build Programs' tab so that it looks similar to that below:

Select your Game Configuration from the list under 'Configuration:'.

Directories

There are several components to the map compiling process. It is required that each be correctly linked to for Gearcraft to perform a complete 'Oven Compile'.

  • Game Executable - This should be set to the game's executable (bond.exe).
  • CSG Executable - This component is not required in compiling nightfire maps so it may be left blank.
  • BSP Executable - This component should be set to the BBSP.exe executable (supplied with the editor).
  • VIS Executable - This component should be set to the BVIS.exe executable (supplied with the editor).
  • RAD Executable - This component should be set to the BRAD.exe executable (supplied with the editor).
  • Mailto - This should be set to the folder you want the compiled maps to be put in.
